Overview

Zen App is a wellness platform enabling users to book massage services anytime, anywhere across Asia, including Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The app connects users with professional therapists, offering convenience, variety, and high-quality wellness experiences. As the product designer, my role was to craft an intuitive interface that simplifies booking while reflecting the app's premium and relaxing brand identity.


Objectives

  • Create an effortless booking experience for users.

  • Showcase a diverse range of wellness services and locations.

  • Ensure smooth navigation for a multilingual, multicultural user base.

  • Integrate seamless payment and scheduling functionalities.

Process

  1. Research & Discovery

    • Conducted surveys and interviews with target users to understand their wellness needs.

    • Analyze competitor apps to identify strengths and gaps in the market.

    • Designed a calming, visually appealing interface using warm tones and minimalist layouts to evoke relaxation.

    • Integrated filters for service type, location, and availability to personalize the user experience.

    • Ensured localization support for multiple languages, enhancing accessibility across regions.

  4. Testing & Iteration

    • Conducted usability tests with users from Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

    • Identified pain points, such as unclear navigation and insufficient service details, and improved these areas.

    • Optimized the app’s performance for both Android and iOS platforms.

  5. Collaboration & Handoff

    • Worked closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.

    • Provided a design system for consistency in future updates and scalability.

Designing the Zen App was an exciting challenge that allowed me to combine aesthetics with functionality in the wellness industry. The project highlighted the importance of understanding regional preferences and cultural nuances when creating a product for a diverse user base.
